Why is my progress bar showing a different status?

Your progress bar lets you know how many points in total you have earned this calendar year. Your Status indicates what tier you are in now based on either a) last year’s total points; or b) the new tier you achieved this year with your points, whichever is higher.

If your progress bar is different than your Status, it means "a)" your Status tier is based on last year’s total points and you have not yet met or exceeded that tier this year. Your Status will remain for the rest of the year (unless you can exceed it) and next year’s Status will be determined by where you are at on the progress bar (i.e. how many points you’ve earned) at the end of this year.
